Giants of the Sky Gold Edition: The 747-400

This new edition of Giants of the Sky is created using the latest generation of aircraft design technology and is one of the most detailed and complete aircraft packages for Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2000.

The Gold edition is the official, complete edition of this title and is dedicatited for FS2000 use only (please note this version is not compatible with Windows 2000 systems). The Gold edition introduces all new aircraft. Compared to the original FS98 edition, everything is new, including the aircraft, panels, sounds, and flight planner.

Tru-View Panel Technology

There are 9 separate cockpit panels and pop up windows providing multiple viewpoints. Easily navigate from the pilot’s view, to ‘jumpseat’ to the first officer, to the overhead, and to the center console all with a few clicks of the mouse. There is even a separate moveable autopilot panel display, mini-instrument stack, and a Tru-View Captain’s view that automatically displays when you reach a pilot adjustable pre-set decision height giving you maximum visibility on final approach!

Advanced Flight Deck Avionics

Using the latest in gauge design, the Multi-Function Displays allow you to customize your panel. Modeled after the real MFDs in the 747-400, these instruments can switch between a primary flight display, navigational display (including standard navigational instruments, flight plan mode, and a full featured Moving Map), and engine displays. All six MFDs in the cockpit are model to their appropriate aircraft systems to allow the feel of difference from the pilot's to the first officer's side.

Exclusive new Tru-View panels give super clear instruments for clarity. Even the Multi-Function Displays can be adjusted for brightness or switched! Fully functional instruments provide a Flight Management Computer and a Ground Proximity Warning system that alerts of incorrect aircraft settings.

We have even included a special 747 Planner allows you to create specifically designed flight plans for the 747-400 and preload the plan into the 747 Flight Management Computer! The planner isn't just limited to the 747-400, though. Aircraft specifications can be changed to allow flight planning with any aircraft from a Cessna to the Concorde and anything in between!

Requirements: Windows 98/ME (This program will not work with Windows 2000). The new panel requires a fair amount of computing power, so at least a Pentium II 400 is recommended, with 128MB of RAM.You should also have at least 100 MB of spare disk space, not including the install files you download.
